Afternoon all. Strange problem that I have never encountered on any car before. I have a 52 reg S80 2.4SE D5 45K (a baby!!) and all was fine until 3 days ago. When I came out the blipper would not turn the alarm off and I had to use the key in the door and to position 1 to turn it off. However, by the time I got to work everything worked OK and the remote set the alarm and on and off all day. Next morning same thing - got to work and all OK, Same again on 3rd day so it seems to be that the remote cannot communicate after the car has been standing for several hours. I bought the car in August and it has been fine up till now - any clever folk out ther have any ideas? Thanks, David

Have you tried your other remote? Does it work with it? If it does, it could be as simple as the battery is on its last legs in the remote.

Thanks for speedy response but Yes - both remotes exactly the same and will not unlock 1st thing so it doesnt seem like the batteries - plus it works OK all day as well

Sorry it was a thought. Think its a dealer visit required. Best of luck.

I did have a similar problem, but with just the remote I used the most. Hanging other things off the 'tag' bit caused the remote parts to become a bit loose/seperate slightly. But, unlikely to be your problem unless you use both remotes in the same way.
