driving home from town on sat afternoon my 850 T5 Auto just died NO warning lights nothing just cut out so i coasted to a halt (as the car got to about 10mph the all the dashboard warning lights came on) so i turned the ignition off and back on and the car fired straight back up no problem......another 3 miles later the same happend but the car wouldnt re-start untill the 4th attempt i did all the ECU diagnostic checks with the box and test button behind the headlight as per haynes manual...all the differant checks came up 1-1-1 ......so removed, checked and refitted all the conections i could get too under the bonnet and left the battery disconected overnight tried the car again yesterday evening and it cut out after about 5 mins :( this car has been faultless in the 10 months ive owned it im lost........anyone ?
thanks guys like i said NO Fault codes came on when i did all the differant checks!!! so i guess that counts out cam pos sensor? and crank sensor? (just something a guy at work just suggested) anyway of checking my fuel pump relay? would the fuel pump or fuel pump relay throw up a fault code?
tonight it started fine and ran for about 2 mins then cut out....i felt the ignition coil and it was cold so its not that overheating turned off ignition then it restarted fine and cut out about 10 secs later turned off ignition then back on and started and ran untill the cooling fan cut in so waited for it the fan to stop then turned it off !?!?!?! EVERY time i turn on the ignition i can here the fuel pumg wurring for about 2-3 sec's then it clicks off...so fuel pump is working!? there was no electrical "burning" smell or anything like that under the bonnet!
